When rocks were soft and Edward was young, he set out on a quest of discovery. Into a royal hall he went and sat with his ears attuned. "My people demand this!" a matron screeched. "Over my dead body!" a man replied. "Her research isn't very good," a maiden whispered. Edward went from there and knew he had discovered politics. Up a mountain he climbed, and his britches were badly torn. He fashioned a needle from a mighty oak and took thread from a spider. He closed the rip and continued to stitch, making wonderous patterns and words. And thus did Edward discover embroidery In a dark and eldritch forest was he set upon by brigands whose symbol was the bay leaf. Edward snatched up a stick and sent them howling into the night, their hands clutching their nether regions. And Edward called it fighting. The morning came and with it came boiling water for washing. But beans from a bush fell into the pot and it became black and foul. Edward dared a sip and his face showed contentment, for he had discovered coffee. Young men sensed his greatness and sought all his knowledge, and Edward was in need of a pack-mule. And on that fine morning Edward discovered squires. Strong was his heart and able was his mind when he tripped and fell to the ground. He rose and spat it from his mouth. Dirt! Dirt I shall call you! Evening came and his. Bunions were chilled, but there were no more sticks to burn. He found long leaves, brown and slender. The smoke rose up, and he knew it was bad, but so good. Night covered the sky with her blanket, and Edward found his repose. But the cold wind blew and a frick girl sought to warm him. And Edward didn't know what to call what he found, but he knew he would seek it out again and again and again until a name occurred to him. Magellan, Raleigh, Columbus- Their deeds are pale shadows of Edward's! So let it be known that we, James and Elina, King and Queen of Aethelmearc, do make this mighty man a Baron on the XX day of. Aug. 17, 2002, AS 37 at Pennsic War 31. This gift is done by the loving hearts and hands of Viscountess Akiley du Remier and Baronne Una de Saint Luc (Illumination), Sir Ogami Akira (wording) and by Lady Pleasance de Coignieres (calligraphy) |
